(I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.)
The Eye of Nefertiti is about an Egyptian cat that was gifted with abilities humans can do such as talking and walking on two feet. Having travelled to the future with the High Priest of Amun-Ra and now living with his new wife and child who might possibly be the re-incarnation of the Pharaoh he once loved years ago, they get a letter that leads them to travel to England for a while. But are the intentions of the letter true to its word? Can a trip be anything but normal when you have a talking cat and a time-traveling boat?
This book has everything. It’s a quick-paced book containing humor, time-travel and an ample amount of adventure. It is incredibly entertaining! There is always something happening and in every case, it all ends up connecting even if you think some parts might have no connection to the story. It was so strange for me reading in the point of view of a cat that can communicate with humans but our Wrappa-Hamen is such a funny character and I loved reading his thoughts and banter. I’ve never read book like this with an animal for its main character and Maria Luisa Lang did such a good job bringing him to life. The book can be read as a stand-alone but it is also a sequel to The Pharaoh’s Cat which is also a quick-paced read and I highly recommend reading both of them!
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5 feathers!
