Famous Last Words is about Willa, a girl starting a new life in Hollywood now that her mother fell in love and married Jonathan, a famous film director. In this big mansion of a house that used to belong to a famous actress, Willa starts seeing weird happenings. It’s sort of like something, or someone, is trying to contact her. With news about a psycho killer out on the loose and the weird Hollywood-inspired murder scenes, could her weird visions have any connection? Or is she simply going crazy?
I personally had a hard time getting into this book but it grew on me more and more as I kept reading. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older but when I read through the point of view of a teenager, sometimes the writing doesn’t feel as relatable as it used to be. It was still an enjoyable read and the author hit all the right marks when it comes to adding the perfect amount of suspense. There were moments that were pretty spooky and kept me wanting to read and find out what’s happening. The whole story was a very intriguing concept though I will admit that I was able to predict a lot. I did not however, predict what happened at the end and it was pretty shocking to all of us who read it for our book club. When we talked, we all agreed that it felt like the perfect thriller for those who want to start getting into thrillers. It’s a very exciting yet simple read that would be perfect for reading right before bed.
It was a very fun book to read and some of us are even already looking into purchasing another Katie Alender book. I ended up giving this book a 3.5 out of 5.
B sadly didn’t get the chance to read it but we’re still bugging him to do so.
Cat really enjoyed this book and gives it a 4.5 out of 5!
For someone who doesn’t read a lot of thrillers, what books would you guys suggest?

P.S. I realized I’ve been slacking on my book reviews and I apologize! It’s been a pretty busy summer but I am very excited to share my thoughts on My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows and Confess by Colleen Hoover very soon! I gotta say, these books are fantastic!
P.P.S. I’m very excited to announce our Book of the Month on the 1st! It’s going to be such a great month! What do you guys think it’s going to be?
