Sierra and her family travel from Oregon to California to set up their Christmas tree lot for the holiday season. She always spends this time helping her family out on the lot, enjoying her time visiting her little home away from home and hanging out with her best friend Heather, someone she only gets to see once a year. This year, her friend has every intent on finding someone for Sierra so that they can all go on double dates together. Sierra isn't so keen on the idea as she feels putting her heart out there would'nt be the best decision, especially knowing she will only be around for a month. That being said, she definitely didn’t expect to meet someone like Caleb.
This was a really good choice for the holiday season. It was a nice, light and easy book to read and it was great to help get into the holiday spirit. It had an immense amount of cute and cheesy moments and it would probably be perfect for someone who likes to watch Hallmark movies this time of year like I do. When discussing it at Book Club tonight, everyone agreed it was very sweet but we did feel however, that it contained a lot of repetition throughout the book. We also felt as though some parts near the end needed a bit more closure but I wouldn’t want to go into detail and spoil anything for you. I loved how we got to see a glimpse of both of her lives, in Oregon and in California and how different both seem to be. It’s a new life altogether, each with its own set of friends and routines and it’s really interesting. With Caleb around and their friendship possibly evolving to more, you could see the struggle she has with somehow merging both of these lives together.
We did have mixed opinions but overall, we agreed that it was a lovely read for the holidays!
We give it a rating of 3.5 out of 5!
Happy New Year!
