Celestine North is living a great life. Her grades are perfect, her relationship is perfect and her life is, well, perfect. In a world where one mistake can brand you as flawed, you aim to make no error in every move you make. Celestine had nothing to worry about until she decided to follow her gut and made a wrong move. Now that she’s broken a rule, what can she do to protect her perfect life? What will happen if she is found flawed?
This duology has no flaws whatsoever. When I first heard that Cecelia Ahern was writing a dystopian series, I was a little surprised but now, I think she should really continue writing young adult novels. I was so happy to have received Flawed in an OwlCrate box last April and if you’d like to check out my unboxing post, I’ll leave it for you right here. I read Flawed in no time at all. Celestine was an interesting character. She was so used to living such a good life that when things turned upside down, she seemed a bit lost. I feel like this whole situation helped her really grow and you can see this growth throughout the book. There’s a fire inside her that’s been waiting to come through and she’s finally speaking her mind. She’s gone through a lot and it’s definitely changed her but it is also making her stronger. I couldn’t imagine living in a world like that. Some of the decisions made by some people as they showed their disgust were just awful. It made me hope that Celestine would embrace her fire and fight for her beliefs. As a reader, you clearly get to see what is wrong, what is right and how flawed the guild and its system really were. I was very happy to have received a copy of Perfect through NetGalley! I’ve had my eyes set out on this book since last April and couldn’t wait to read it. I’ll go ahead and say that it exceeded my expectations! It followed right where Flawed left off! Cecelia’s writing style is absolutely perfect in this series. You can tell that she really thought out the plot process so that there were no dull moments whatsoever. Everything fits together stunningly in the end and I just fell in love with these books.
I can’t wait to pick up my copy of Perfect on April 4th, 2017!
I highly recommend this duology for any dystopian fans out there! You will not be disappointed!
It quickly became one of my favorite series!
I gave both books a 5 out of 5 rating as they both greatly deserved it.
