(I received a copy from Wunderkind PR in exchange for an honest review.)
Lifeblood is the second installment in the Everlife Trilogy by Gena Showalter. It starts right where it left off and when you feel like you had a full grasp on the world you were introduced to in the first book, there is so much more left to see. Tenley Lockwood has finally made a choice and the war she was meant to help fight has already begun. On one side, she has her new loyalties and her new family; on the other, she has her competition with her heart in hand. Ten has yet another choice to make but time is running out fast.
I fell in love with Firstlife. It was an absolute favorite of mine last year and so when I had the opportunity to read Lifeblood, I was ecstatic! It had exceeded my expectations and is, in my opinion, even better than its predecessor! It’s such a quick read with so many plot twists that keep you at the edge of your seat. The action never stops and while she’s trying to figure out how she could truly harness her light, you find yourself puzzling through the many ways she might be able to crack the code that is her gift. There are so many secrets and you are left wondering who she could trust and who might betray her to win such a life-long war. In the first one, I thought I had a good idea of what both realms were like but now that Ten is within one, I now see that I only had a glimpse. Her world-building is phenomenal and I can’t get enough of this series.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 rating but it really deserves a TEN!
I can’t believe I have to wait a whole year to read Everlife!
