The book for last month was amazing and I would gladly pick another read with a dark atmosphere but it’s been two months in a row and it’s probably time for something different. This month, we’ve decided to go with an LGBT YA contemporary. The November book of the month is going to be Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown. In this book, we follow Joanna on her move to Rome, Georgia with her family. While she is out and proud, her father asks her for a favor. Since he is a well-known radio evangelist and their new home is within a very conservative community, he asks her to lay low at least until the end of the school year. She agrees to do that for him but things get complicated when she’s introduced to Mary Carlson. What will she choose, keeping her word or following her heart? I’ve seen a lot of good reviews on this one and I’m really excited to read it! I will be posting my Book Club review on November 25th if anyone wants to read along and write your thoughts in the comments section!
