1. Darker-Type Books
With Halloween approaching, a nice book with a darker theme would go really well with all of the Halloween TV shows and movies. I find a lot of people tend to watch scary movies around this time, so why not start a scary book or even a thriller? A darker book that I'm really excited to read is Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake. It's coming out at the end of this month and I think it sounds perfect for this time of year. Another good book that fits this is our Book of the Month: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I can't wait to share our thoughts on it at the end of the month!
I'm not saying to read the same kind of contemporary books that you would read over the summer. There are great reads that take place in the fall. You can never go wrong with a contemporary romance either. Just picture it: a nice contemporary read while drinking a nice pumpkin spice latte. A contemporary I'm looking forward to reading this fall is November 9 by Colleen Hoover.
When I think autumn, I always think it's that time where everyone seems to be going back to school. It's a new beginning or transition for most and it could either be stressful, exciting or even both. A lot of people say that Harry Potter books are perfect for winter, but I think it sounds like it could be a great fall read with the way Harry starts a new chapter in his life. I'm actually really determined to read the first book of J.K. Rowling's series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, this fall. I'm looking forward to finally starting a series I should have started years ago.
What are you guys looking forward to reading?
