1. Totally should’ve gotten a sequel: The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
I chose The Coldest Girl in Coldtown because I read the book in one sitting and needed more. I didn’t need more in a sense that it didn’t feel like it ended, but because I didn’t want it to end! I was just sad that I had to say goodbye to that world so quickly.
2. Totally should’ve had a spin off series: the Divergent series by Veronica Roth
I absolutely loved the Divergent world and I feel like a spin off series would be amazing. I feel as though we only got the chance to see the whole of Chicago and just a brief part of the outside world. Wouldn’t it be interesting if we had a spin off series depicting what happened before the outside was discovered? I would even love to read a story with Tris’s mom as the protagonist! There are just so many possibilities!
3. An author who totally should write more books: Suzanne Collins
I’ve seen this answer everywhere and I agree whole-heartedly. I am a big fan of The Hunger Games and I feel like it was such an amazing success. Her writing is just so smooth and fantastic. I was able to picture everything in my mind and I felt like I was really there seeing through the eyes of our girl on fire. I cannot wait for another book by her to come out! I would go buy it in a heartbeat.
4. A character who totally should’ve ended up with someone else: Tegan in Horde by Ann Aguirre
I’m not going to say what happened because this happened at the end of the fantastic Razorland series by Ann Aguirre and I refuse to spoil it for anyone. I was a little sad that things did not go as I had hoped when it came to our sweet Tegan but I am not worried! I’ve read good news that Ann Aguirre will be publishing a companion series that follows Tegan instead of our original Razorland protagonist, Deuce! I’m excited to see what happens!
5. Totally should’ve ended differently: Allegiant by Veronica Roth
I’m going to have to go with Allegiant. I think I’ve mentioned my thoughts on the end during one of my previous posts. I won’t be spoiling it for those who haven’t read it yet but this was one of the endings that really made me fall apart. I wish so very much that it could have happened differently though I feel like after reading the whole book, I sort of get why it happened.
6. Totally should’ve had a movie franchise: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
I feel like Red Queen is going to be the new it series. It’s one of my favorite books right now. The second book is coming out in a few weeks and is already storming with amazing reviews and many recommendations saying it might possibly be even better than the first. I feel like, although only one book is out right now, it could lead to the making of quite an exciting movie franchise.
7. Totally should’ve had a TV show: Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
This would make such an amazing TV show! The story was so elaborate that I feel like a movie just wouldn’t be enough. I know I’ve only read the one book so far but I strongly feel like this could be such an exciting show to watch. It would have fighting, some heart breaking romance, some action and a lot of magic. It would be awesome.
8. Totally should’ve had only one point of view: Endgame by James Frey and Nils Johnson-Shelton
As I mentioned before, Endgame could have been a great book but the 12 different points of view just didn’t do it for me. I feel like if there was maybe one or even two-three points of view, I could have found the reading much easier to follow and more enjoyable.
9. Totally should have a cover change: the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
I’m not saying that the covers are bad, I just feel as though they are pretty plain. I am obsessed with the TV show and with the gorgeous 10th edition of the first of its series, the others just seem so plain in comparison. Plus, I’ve sadly only heard of this book last year and I know we should not judge a book by its cover but, I feel like the plain version of the covers would not have grasped my attention. I find they don’t do the story justice.
10. Totally should’ve kept the original covers: the Immortal Game series by Ann Aguirre
When Mortal Danger came out, I fell in love with the cover art. It was such a gorgeous cover and I was excited to see what the rest of the series would look like. When Public Enemies came out, they decided to have a cover change and it looked a bit creepy to me. So now, I have book 1 and 2 but they don’t match at all. Book 3, Infinite Risk will be matching the new cover style when it comes out while Mortal Danger also has a paperback release with the same look. It sucks that they don’t match the one I bought but I personally love the original cover art much better.
11. Totally should’ve stopped at book one: Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler
Technically, the Kissed by an Angel copy I have is the original trilogy together so to me it’s like all one book. I felt like it had such a perfect ending with an incredible message that it is okay to move on. It was ruined for me when another three books were released following the Kissed by an Angel series. I strongly feel like it didn’t need it. The whole message at the end of the first trilogy for me didn’t follow into the next trilogy at all.
I hope you enjoyed the book tag!
