Now, I'm not going to lie, if you're like me and you only read the old school 'Archie and Friends', 'Jughead' and 'Betty and Veronica' Double Digest books, you're going to need to prepare yourself for this one because it is WAY different. Whereas the Archie comics I grew up with consisted of funny little stories about Archie and his adventures at Riverdale High with his pals, this series is a lot less about chuckles and guffaws and more about shock and awe.
All of the main characters have dark family backgrounds (I suppose it's to be expected, since the show revolves around the mystery of the murder of one of Riverdale's own). You can expect to see a lot of drama, some shocking relationships/affairs and experience many GASP-worthy moments of suspense.
When it comes down to it, I give this adaptation a 4 out of 5 feathers!
