I'm a huge fan of Gilmore Girls. I actually only started watching it last summer and I definitely wish I could have given it a shot much sooner. Now that I've completed watching the whole series and the reunion, I listened to a snippet of this book as an eBook with Lauren Graham as the narrator and I loved it. I only got to hear a small part but it reminded me of her character as Lorelai Gilmore. I'm really looking forward to reading her biography.
I'm a sucker for romance and I've always been interested in historical fiction. I've tried reading a few that are based around the happenings of World War 2 but I've always wished that there were more romance and happier endings. I'm not in any way saying they were bad stories as most were very poignant. I just always have hope when it comes to falling in love and keeping hold of that love. I don't know if Wait for Me will take this route and be more about romance but I'm willing to give it a shot. It sounds very promising and so good. I can't wait to read it.
Every once in a while I tend to read in various themes. For a bit, I was in the mood to read books that involved time travel or space travel such as The Firebird Trilogy or The Girl From Everywhere Duology. Right now with how excited I am about reading Caraval by Stephanie Garber, I've been looking into reading more books that carry a circus theme. I've heard so many good things about The Night Circus and how a lot of people have been saying that a lot of fans who loved The Night Circus, have loved Caraval. I feel like I'm definitely missing out and would love to pick this one up. Another book that caught my eye is The Lonely Hearts Hotel which is set in Montreal in the early 1900s and is said to be a very spellbinding new release. I will definitely be adding these two to my collection very soon.
These books will be coming out in the next few months and I can't wait to read them! The general summary of The Bone Witch sounds very interesting and I'm surprised that there are so many low-rated reviews on Goodreads. I'd still like to give it a shot and see for myself and if I have a similar opinion. Hunted sounds amazing and I feel like its release is such great timing as it's so close to the release date of the new live-action movie of Beauty and the Beast. I love retellings and can't wait to see where they will go with this one! As for Defy the Stars, I loved Claudia Gray's writing in the Firebird series and Defy the Stars is possibly one of my most anticipated of this year.
What books are you guys looking forward to buying this year? Let me know in the comments below!
